HSBC's Private Bank Names New Americas COO

HSBC Global Private Banking has named a new chief operating officer for the Americas, Dennis Duggan, who takes over from Louis Marino, who is moving to a new role at the bank.
The appointment is effective immediately and Duggan reports to Joe Abruzzo, head of the private bank in the Americas, and John Armstrong, COO for global private banking.
Combining his prior responsibilities as chief administrative officer, Duggan will now lead the business management, business risk control management, technology and operations teams, HSBC said late last week.
Prior to joining HSBC in 2006, Duggan spent 13 years with UBS where he led various operational teams including serving as Head of US operations for the private bank. He also held several relationship management and client service roles within the private banks both at Citibank and JP Morgan.
As reported last week, HSBC has put all its European private bank arms, including its Swiss business, under the same organizational umbrella.
